Summary
GeoReality is a static data explorer. We don't require accounts, don't store personal information, and don't sell user data.
What we collect
Aggregated, anonymous analytics only. This includes:
- Approximate country (derived from IP; the full IP address is never stored)
- Browser type and operating system
- Pages visited and the referring URL
- Performance metrics (Core Web Vitals)
We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, precise location, or any personally identifiable information. We do not build user profiles, do not track users across other sites, and do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Lawful basis
Where UK GDPR applies, we process anonymous analytics data under the lawful basis of legitimate interest, for the purpose of understanding how the site is used and improving it. Analytics fire only after you accept the cookie banner; declining means no analytics data is processed.
Data retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted by our analytics provider. Cached preferences in your own browser (such as currency selection or your cookie choice) remain until you clear them via your browser settings.
International transfers
We use third-party services for hosting and infrastructure, and some of them process data outside the UK (typically in the United States or the European Economic Area). When that happens, those providers operate under the safeguards required by UK GDPR Article 46. We don't choose where individual requests are routed.
AI features
When you use the destination matcher or the country Q&A feature, the text you enter is sent to a third-party AI provider for processing in order to generate a response. We do not retain those inputs ourselves. The AI provider processes the request under their own data handling policy. Do not enter personal information, account credentials, or other sensitive data into these features.
Cookies and local storage
GeoReality uses minimal first-party browser storage to remember UI preferences (e.g. selected currency on the country profile page) and your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept the cookie banner; declining means no analytics cookies are written to your browser. No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies.
Third-party services
GeoReality relies on standard third-party providers for hosting, content delivery, and analytics. When you use the site, those providers process basic technical request data (IP, user-agent) under their own privacy policies. No personal data is shared with them by us.
Your rights
Because we don't store personal data, there is no account to delete and no profile to access. Where UK GDPR applies you have the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to processing of any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a privacy concern, contact us via the details below. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
