Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 May 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the GeoReality website (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
GeoReality is a static data explorer and editorial guide covering 196 countries. The Service aggregates publicly available indices from authoritative international institutions (including the World Bank, UNDP, the Institute for Economics and Peace, Numbeo, EF EPI, RSF, EIU, Ookla, and Copernicus / ECMWF) and presents them alongside editorial content. The full source list is on the Methodology page.
3. Informational use only; not professional advice
The content on GeoReality is provided for general information and research purposes only. It is not professional advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in the relevant field.
In particular, nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, immigration, legal, medical, real-estate, relocation, or travel advice. Decisions about where to live, retire, study, work, or travel are personal and high-stakes; readers should independently verify any data point relevant to their decision and consult qualified advisers before acting.
4. Data accuracy
Every metric on GeoReality is sourced from a named third-party institution or index, with the source attributed in the project's metrics registry. While reasonable care is taken to refresh the data on the cadence stated on the Methodology page, GeoReality makes no warranty that any value is accurate, current, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. Underlying datasets may themselves contain errors, gaps, or revisions; GeoReality is not responsible for the accuracy of third-party data.
5. Affiliate links
The Service contains affiliate links to third-party partners. GeoReality may earn a commission when a reader follows certain outbound links and completes a qualifying action with the partner. Recommendations are editorially selected; partner status does not influence ranking or inclusion. Full details on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
6. Intellectual property
Editorial content, written analysis, page structure, and the presentation of data on GeoReality are the intellectual property of GeoReality. Underlying datasets remain the property of their respective publishers and are presented under the terms of their publicly available licences (typically open data, attribution-only, or fair-use research excerpts). Readers may quote short excerpts with attribution to GeoReality. Bulk scraping, redistribution, or commercial reuse of the editorial layer or the data aggregations is not permitted without prior written consent.
7. AI-assisted content
Some sections of the Service (notably parts of the editorial guides and the country Q&A features) are drafted with the assistance of third-party large language models and reviewed editorially before publication. The factual content underneath is sourced from the same verified data layer described above. Readers should not treat AI- assisted text as a substitute for professional advice (see section 3).
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GeoReality disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, GeoReality, its operators, and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service or its content, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on any data point, editorial statement, or partner recommendation displayed on the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
10. Third-party services
The Service links to and embeds third-party content (affiliate partners, map providers, video providers, analytics). GeoReality is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties. Following an outbound link is a decision made by the reader.
11. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from or in connection with the Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, save that this does not limit any non-excludable rights that a consumer may have under the law of their country of residence.
